Bio for Alisa Harrison

Alisa Harrison is the senior vice president of global marketing & research for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, a contractor of the Beef Checkoff.

She leads a team of marketing and communications specialists who conduct programs and activities funded by the Beef Checkoff to grow beef demand by helping consumers understand the benefits of beef in healthy lifestyles and the steps that farmers and ranchers take in raising beef.

Alisa has over 20 years, experience in marketing, communications and public affairs.  Before rejoining NCBA last year, she served in senior positions at the International Franchise Association and APCO Worldwide, a global public affairs firm.

She previously held several roles at the NCBA between 1986 and 2001 before leaving to serve as director of communications and press secretary for former Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman.  At USDA, she led the communications strategy for the department, including the U.S. government response to the country’s first case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in 2003.
