Ohio county lures meat plant with incentives
Ohio development officials approved a financial incentive package to land a meat processing plant in Warren County that is expected to create 200 jobs, the Dayton Daily News reported.
Empire Packing Co. plans to build an 80,000-square-foot plant in Mason, Warren County, the paper said.
State officials on Monday approved $5.5 million from the Ohio Enterprise Bond Fund and a $1.5 million 166 Direct Loan by the Ohio Development Financing Advisory Council. In May, Empire Packing was approved for a 50 percent, six-year Ohio Job Creation Tax Credit worth approximately $4.9 million, according to the story.
Warren County was competing with sites in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee for the project.
